Course summary
The MSc Financial Technology (FinTech) program is designed for early-career professionals and recent graduates, offering a unique combination of business knowledge and practical experience to equip you for success in the FinTech industry.
FinTech lies at the heart of the rapidly transforming digital financial landscape. As financial technologies advance and businesses shift toward consumer-centric strategies, the demand for professionals with a robust understanding of FinTech and its applications continues to grow.
The program will primarily be taught at the University of Suffolks newly developed Bloomberg Lab. This state-of-the-art facility provides students with access to cutting-edge tools and real-world environments, ensuring an immersive and practical learning experience and offering students a world-class platform for financial education and skills building.
Each Bloomberg Terminal in the lab has the same advanced tools used by financial professionals in leading firms globally. These terminals provide access to real-time market data, financial news, and analytics, enabling students to work with up-to-the-minute information as they would in professional settings. Offering simulation of real-world scenarios where students use the Lab to simulate financial scenarios, such as portfolio management, trading, and risk analysis, giving them practical exposure to industry processes. This real-world application bridges the gap between academic theory and professional practice and experience with these terminals signals to employers that graduates are industry-ready and familiar with the platforms used daily by top-tier firms.
The program emphasises the skills required to thrive in the dynamic FinTech market, including:
Global FinTech Market Understanding: Gain deep insights into the trends, dynamics, and challenges of the FinTech industry, enabling you to identify opportunities and navigate complexities effectively.
Technical Proficiency: Acquire diverse technical skills, including software engineering, data analytics, and computational techniques, to develop innovative solutions to real-world FinTech challenges.
Innovation and Problem-Solving: Master the ability to create cutting-edge solutions by applying technical expertise and global market awareness.
Professional Development: Cultivate research acumen, professional conduct, and market awareness, making you a valuable asset to any organisation.
